CNN Apologizing For Playing Unedited Coolio Song Live On Air
May 31, 2010
CNN is apologizing for playing an unedited version of Coolio’s ‘Fantastic Voyage’ live on air during the conclusion of a segment they ran about Gladys Flamer, 103-year-old elderly black woman, who is still driving her own Cadillac.
Following the segment CNN anchor Kyra Phillips says:
“We aired some music just a few minutes ago, and, obviously for those of you that heard it, it was the wrong music that aired. We apologize for that. It was a terrible mistake. And we’re working very hard to make up for it.”
Some of the lyrics that aired are as follows:
‘Ain’t no bloodin’, Ain’t no crippin’ / Ain’t no punk-ass nigga’s set trippin’ / everybody’s got a stack and it ain’t no crack / and it really don’t matter…’
Wait, I’m still wondering why someone who is 103 is still driving around…It’s wonderful that she’s still getting around great, but that can’t be very safe…..
