Tina paid Andy a visit last night to chat about her upcoming movie Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, but let’s be real, all we’re REALLY interested in is the Mean Girls Musical production we’re all dying to know more about. In a rapid fire question game, Andy asked Tina as many questions as he could squeeze in, and she generously gave us all even more insight.
Ok, so Tina got some jokes, and it probably won’t be another ten years, but she did say QUOTE, “Whenever Hamilton closes” which miiiight be a long wait, but it’s worth it because MEAN GIRLS. She also revealed that she would be recruiting a whole new cast, including herself, and that nobody from the original comedy will return to play their roles.
Tina revealed even more good news saying that the plot of the movie will follow the original plot as close as it can, and in Tina’s words, “I hope there will be an African Lady Smith Mambazo number.”
And speaking of special play numbers, Andy also asked Tina what she thinks would be the 11:00 number, and for all you non-theater buffs, an 11:00 number is translated to a big show-stopping song that occurs late in the second act of the musical… don’t worry, Wikipedia helped me with that one. But here’s what Tina had to say… any guesses?
Totally GROOL with that! So while we set our clocks for the premiere hopefully not 10 years into the future, I want to know what you guys think about Tina’s Mean Girls Musical details, so share all your thoughts right down here in the comments section, and let me know who YOU think would be perfect for the roles. After that, don’t forget to click right over here to relive all the glory with a Throwback episode of all things Mean Girls. Thanks so much for hanging out with me here on Clevver News, I’m your host Danielle Robay and I’ll see you next time.
