Chaz Bono and his fiancée, Jennifer Elia, have broken up and are ending their engagement, E! News has confirmed.
Chaz originally proposed to Jennifer in 2009, but they decided to put the wedding plans on hold while Bono underwent extensive gender reassignment surgery. Last month during an episode of his Reality TV Show, Being Chaz, he presented her with a diamond ring during a birthday trip to Washington.
Chaz hit up Twitter after the news broke to update his fans saying:
“Thanks for your concern about our separation. I’m doing fine, and we remain on good terms with nothing but respect and affection 4 eachother.”
Howard Bragman, Bono’s rep, tells TMZ:
“They leave this relationship with great love, respect and affection toward one another. No further amplification will be forthcoming and they ask that you respect their privacy at this time.”
