Nicholas Cage and Pierce Brosnan are to take the lead roles in Roman Polanski’s latest thriller The Ghost.

“I’m going to go off and work with Mr Roman Polanski and Nic Cage on a film called ‘The Ghost,’” Brosnan told MTV. “It’s a thriller.”

The film is based on a Robert Harris novel and will feature Brosnan as ex-British prime minister Adam Lang, who enlists Cage’s yet unnamed character to write his memoirs.

Cage must choose between loyalty and his personal safety when he learns that Lang is embroiled in a political scandal.

Speaking to Variety when the project was first announced, Polanski commented:

“I have been looking for a political thriller to direct for some time, and ‘The Ghost’ could not be more perfect.”

Polanski, who directed the critically-acclaimed noir thriller CHINATOWN, recently criticised Hollywood studios for giving too much away in movie trailers, reports Showbiz Spy.
