Brittany Murphy Replaces Gwyneth Paltrow In Movie Role Because She’s ‘Too Old’
July 24, 2007
10 years ago writer/director Alek Keshishian started writing a film with Gwyneth Paltrow in mind titled Love & Other Disasters about a Vogue magazine intern. It’s complete after 10 years, and he felt he had to recast the role because she is older and a mom of two.
He says, “She was just too old for the role. The character is supposed to be a young girl.” Ironically, at 29, Murphy is just five years younger than Paltrow. Although Gwyneth was promised a cameo in the film, lets not forget the major pay cut and possibly some embarrassment of being called ‘old’. Talk about a slap in the face!
