Britney Spears Taken Via Police Escort To Children’s Hospital

X17 is reporting that Britney Spears was taken via what appeared to be a pre-planned police escort to UCLA Medical Center’s Mattel Children’s Hospital.

They say the cars didn’t appear to be moving in a way that would suggest there was an emergency, but it’s unclear at this time.  Original news stories have been claiming Britney has been rushed to the emergency room, but that appears not to be the case.

X17‘s calls to Britney’s publicist have not yet been returned and Media relations for the hospital said:

“we can’t comment due to patient confidentiality.”

UPDATE:

A rep for Britney says the drama filled trip to the UCLA medical center is just for a routine checkup.

“Everything is fine.  Britney is there for an annual physical.”

A police escort along with two other vehicles seems a bit extreme for a routine check-up, don’t ya think??
