British Actress Gemma Arterton Lands The Next Bond Girl Role

British actress Gemma Arterton of the show St. Trinian will be the next Bond girl. She has only been in a handful of films.
The 22-year old beat out 1,500 other women to co-star with Daniel Craig in the movie which is tentatively titled Bond 22. Filming is set to start in January.
After getting the confirmation, Arterton sent an SMS to her mom saying, “I got Bond!”
An insider at the Bond studios Eon Productions said, “She has the modern look.”
UPDATE: After it’s been reported for a good month or so that Gemma Arterton was to be the new Bond Girl, it is now being reported that actress Olga Kurylenko is now the official Bond girl, while the previously widely reported Gemma Arterton will play an M16 agent called Fields.

she’s not that beautiful.
i’m dissapointed, but if her acting’s great, then I won’t be.
But, come on, it’s Bond. careers are launched through this franchise, and huundreds of millinos of dollars will be made off the public, and they give us this?
and I the only man who wants some T and A with my bond women? and no one wears red lipstick anymore except grandmas. She captures the imagination of a doormat, and there’s no secret in her body frame. she’s simple, unnoticeable, and plain. bond is anything but, so I can hardley see her as the next bond girl.

I love her. I think she’s beautiful. Maybe some of the “plain-ness” is what I like, but her eyes are bright & intelligent. I’d go thru some dangerous adventures with her anytime.

I’m afraid that western women have generally lost their sense of beauty and classs so now even Bond has to conform to this “new standard”.
What a shame.. Bring back the mysterious Russian Beauties as Bond girls. I live in Russia so I know what I’m talking about. Here are some images for you to check out since most of these girls could easily be a more suitable bond girl then this lady.

I heard Daniel Craig was going to choose his bond girl for next movie, did he himself chosen Gemma? She is gorgeous no doubt.

Gentlemen, gentlemen. You clearly do not have the first clue about the basic, fundamental thread of what Bond is all about. He’s an MI6 Agent - so is the character that Miss Arterton portrays. For men in MI6 to ’stand out’ from the crowd is not ideal but for women it’s even worse - that said, trust me, they can still be very sexy, subtle but sexy. Casino Royale saw us returning to a more gritty, albeit cheeky, rather rough diamond in Daniel Craig. Vesper Lynd was not stunning per se, very sexy and rather attractive but not ’stunning’ in the sytle of Bond films of yesteryear.
Personally I think Gemma’s facial structure will lend itself very well to her role and furthermore she’s rather delightful. As one learned scholar quoted earlier “I wouldn’t kick her out of bed!”…no, but I bet she would you, you ungrateful lot. Meanwhile, I shall be waiting in the wings…….vodka martini in hand and not giving a damn whether it’s shaken or stirred.
