Boy George Sentenced To 15 Months Behind Bars

Boy George has been sentenced to 15 months in jail for falsely imprisoning a male escort at his home in 2007.

The 80’s pop idol, real name George O’Dowd, was convicted in December of chaining Norwegian Audun Carlsen to a hook in a bedroom at his east London apartment in April 2007 after suspecting the escort of tampering with his computer.

O’Dowd, 47, denied the charge and claimed he lawfully detained Carlsen for stealing photos from his laptop.

The former Culture Club singer was sentenced to 15 months behind bars at a hearing at London’s Snaresbrook Crown Court on Friday where Judge David Radford he was guilty of “gratuitous violence”.
