Wesley Snipes Blames All His Problems On Racism

As ‘action hero’ Wesley Snipes court date grows closer, he is continuing to blame all his problems on the color of his skin. In a tyraid to media outlets he blamed racism on his tax problems and his Blade: Trinity flop.
Snipes is being charged with eight counts of tax fraud and is due to stand trial next month in Florida stemming from claimed tax refunds of almost $12 million in 1996 and 1997 and is also accused of failing to file tax returns from 1999 to 2004.
He tells Entertainment Weekly, “It was easy for people to jump on the ‘Wesley’s the bad guy’ bandwagon. That’s where I think the systematic racism comes in. We’re conditioned in this country to believe that if there’s a problem, the black man is the culprit.”
As for being in Namibia when federal prosecutors were looking for him, Snipes said, “They positioned it like, ‘He’s irresponsible, dangerous, guilty, this is why he’s in Africa’ . . . All these things, they play into our stereotypes . . . They think I’m an evil dude.”
Snipes even blames racism for the failure of his 2004 movie, “Blade: Trinity,” saying, “There are so few guys who do action and do it well. Even fewer who are African-American. Even fewer who have classical-theater training. So a cat like me coming in, I’m bringing all of that to an action movie. Since there are so few people that do this and have that pedigree, people disregard their contribution.”
I personally liked Blade 1 & 2, but as far as the Blade: Trinity failure goes, there can only be three reasons why it only grossed $53 million here in the states.

The race card .. that is funny.. but I am not surprised. I recall a quote from him a few years back when he stated something like: “The only white guy I like is Woody Harrelson, because he is the blackest white guy I have met”.

African Americans are conditioned in this country to believe that if there’s a problem, the white man is the culprit.
He should pay his taxes like the rest of us and shut the f up.
Blade Trinity flopped because it was lame. Mr. Snipes needs to Man-up and get over himself.

I think Mr Muckraker is looking for a story where there isn’t one. Mr Snipes statement in no way blamed any thing on racism. What statement are you reading? Some people can see the race card before the hand is dealt.

Yeah Im going to go with the reason Blade : Trinity didn’t do well is because it is an uninspired shit movie. Period.
And the IRS couldn’t give a rats ass about skin color. What does that have to do with not paying your taxes exactly?
Is Snipes stuck in a 1960’s time warp or something?

I’ve been robbed at gunpoint twice in my life. Both times I was robbed by black males. I could make any claim that I wanted to, but ultimately I leave race out of it. I wish others would do the same.

Unfortunate the gains of the Civil Rights errors are sqaundered by an modern African American culture that excuses any bad behavior as some result of racism and prejudice and feels they are “owed” something. Talk to an actual African who has immigrated to America recently and you will find a very different mindset. And get over slavery…every race has enslaved every other race in history (including Africans enslaving Africans).

Blade Trinity flopped because it sucked. Everything about that movie sucked, including the acting. I really felt like Wesley Snipes didnt want to be doing the movie in the first place. It seemed to me that he didnt even try.
Im white, but if I dont pay my taxes can I blame it on racism too?

Mr. Snipes unfortunately is blaming unrelated issues on racism. This is a shame because so many things are indeed race related problems. It reminds me of that story…”The boy who cried wolf”. I also do not appreciate the people who have judged “African Americans” for what Snipes has done.
Taxes and “The Man” are taking advantage of everyone, regardless of race. I don’t see a link between Taxes & race other than the fact that living tax free would be a good and “fair” reparation for slavery/oppression. Something that many racist whites argue against.

Color has little to do with it…Will Smith seems to be doing just fine and is probably the “token” sexy Black Actor that has replaced him and Densel Washington. I guess the limited “token” black niche could be to blame but Smith or Washington wouldnt have taken on something like Trinity either. SOL Snipes…
