As The World Turns

Popular soap opera As the World Turns has been canceled, it was announced by CBS on Tuesday.

Back in August Nina Tassler, the President of CBS, considered cancelling the show because ratings were down, but let it continue to runsaying she didn’t know when it would be cancelled, but thought it was inevitable.

The daytime drama has broadcast 13,661 episodes, the first being aired in April 1956.    The last episode of As the World Turns is scheduled to air in September 2010.

I myself have never watched this one.  I grew up with Days of Our Lives, although I haven’t watched it in over a year.  Turned it on the other day and there were so many new faces and characters I had to turn the channel.
