Artie Lange, best known for being Howard Stern’s radio sidekick, has reportedly checked into rehab to be treated for drug and alcohol abuse.

The 40-year-old comedian admitted himself into an intensive outpatient rehabilitation program over the weekend, his spokesperson Lewis Kay has confirmed.

Lange canceled a series of stand-up shows and appearances, including his pal Bob Saget’s Comedy Central Roast on Sunday, to seek treatment.

A source tells the New York Post that Stern’s sidekick “felt awful for not being there for Bob, but needed to make his health a priority“.

Lange reportedly plans to return to Stern’s Sirius radio show following treatment.

We wish him well.
