Dead Body Found Outside Paula Abdul’s Los Angeles Home

 

Authorities are saying that an unidentified woman in her 30s was found dead in her car outside of Paula Abdul’s Los Angeles home on Tuesday afternoon.

According to a spokeswoman for the LAPD:

“All we know is that a woman was found dead in her vehicle … and police are investigating it at this time.”

“We do not know the cause of why she died. And the L.A. coroner’s office will be following up with an investigation.”

Los Angeles station KTLA quoted Ventura County sheriff’s office Capt. Jim Miller as saying the woman had an infatuation with the American Idol judge.

UPDATE:  A rep for Paula Abdul says the American Idol judge is “shocked and saddened” of the news.

The rep tells Entertainment Tonight that they had known about the woman, Paula Goodspeed, for “several years”; she was an extreme fan who “has issues.”

The woman’s car was found after 6 p.m. on Tuesday after the Los Angeles Police Department received a call. The cause of death may have been a drug overdose in an apparent suicide, according to TMZ.com.

Abdul was working on Idol all day and returned home late in the evening after the scene had cleared.
