Amanda Beard Suing Tanning Company

Multiple Olympic gold medalist Amanda Beard is suing a tanning salon company in California, claiming it used her name and likeness without permission.

The lawsuit was filed on Tuesday in Los Angeles Superior Court and claims ProSun posted the swimmer’s picture on its Web site “to create the impression that Beard endorses ProSun products.”

Beard is seeking more than $25,000 in monetary and punitive damages.

TMZ.com says a spokesman for ProSun claims the company took the photos of Beard in question at a charity event and has the right to use them as it wishes.
