Adam Walsh Case Solved

I’m sure everyone remembers the Adam Walsh case, the 6-year-old son of America’s Most Wanted host John Walsh who went missing from a Hollywood, Fla., mall more than 27 years ago. His head was discovered two weeks later, though his body was never found. His killer never found, which is how John Walsh and America’s Most Wanted began.

Well finally, Florida police are expected to announce today that they are ready to close the 1981 abduction and murder investigation of Adam Walsh, one of the country’s most famous cold cases.

A law enforcement source familiar with the case confirmed to ABC News that police will name Ottis Toole, a drifter who died in prison in 1996, as Walsh’s suspected killer. Hollywood police said they would hold a news conference on the case this afternoon.

The source said police had built a strong circumstantial case against Toole, long suspected of the murder, adding if “Ottis Toole were alive today, he would be charged with Adam Walsh’s murder.”

I’m sooo glad to hear this case will finally be solved.  I was really young when this happened, but I remember it like it was yesterday.
